San Diego, CA – May 2011 – TDK-Lambda Americas, a group company of TDK Corporation, has unveiled its latest additions to its successful ZWS line of compact AC-DC power supplies. The 50-Watt ZWS50BAF and 75-Watt ZWS75BAF combine high efficiency, even at low load conditions, with a wide operating temperature range, small size and up to 10-years electrolytic capacitor life, reinforcing TDK-Lambda‘s competitive advantage in the general industrial and commercial equipment market.

These new models accept a very wide AC input range of 85-264Vac, have a low profile of 1.0" to 1.3", and compact footprints of 2.0" wide by 5.2" to 5.9" long, making them ideal for applications in light industrial, factory automation, LED signage, Test & Measurement, gaming, point-of-sale and IT equipment.

These new open frame supplies feature a universal AC input with PFC, enabling them to be used anywhere in the world. Plus, they can operate from a 120-370Vdc input. The ZWS50-75BAF is designed to withstand 3kVac, input-to-output. The series are available with an output voltage of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V or 48Vdc, all of which have a +/-10% adjustment range for non-standard system requirements.

Small in size and offering an efficiency of up to 88%, which is considered high for a PCB-type power supply, all models in the ZWS50-75BAF series feature an operating temperature range of -10°C to +70°C, allowing 100% load operation in a 50°C environment. Standard features include overcurrent and overvoltage protection circuitry.

The ZWS50-75BAF series feature global ITE and general purpose safety agency certifications per UL/CSA/EN60950-1, EN50178 (OV II), are CE Marked, meet the conducted and radiated EMI requirements of EN55011/EN55022-B, VCCI-B and FCC Class B, which is much tougher to meet than Class A. All units are RoHS compliant and include a 5-year warranty, which is one of the longest-term warranties available in this power range.
